Senior Pastor
Doug Shivers has been pastor of Boulevard since 1994. Before coming to Springfield he was pastor of Providence Baptist Church (formerly Southside Baptist) in Ponca City, Oklahoma for eleven years. He grew up in Richland, Missouri and went to college at Southwest Baptist University, Bolivar, Missouri. Doug is committed to pastoral ministry. He loves to study and preach and spend time with his congregation. He has done a bit of writing contributing book reviews and articles to Reformation and Revival Journal and The Founders Journal
He is married to Laura and has four children, and two beautiful grandchildren. He likes to read C.S. Lewis, Eugene Peterson, Tom Clancy, Patrick McManus, and John Donne. He plays golf and still occasionally practices Aikido (a Japanese martial art).

Pastor of Worship and Administration
Wayne Garrison has been with Boulevard since 1980. The first 6 years, as Minister of Music and Youth, and since then as Minister of Music and Education. A native of Southwest Missouri, having grown up in Ozark and Marshfield, he obtained his Bachelors of Music Degree from Southwest Baptist University and his Masters degree in Music from the University of Illinois.
He and his wife, Martha, have four children, and five grandchildren. He is a member of Missouri Music Men and enjoys computing and deer hunting.

Pastor of Discipleship & Student Ministry
Mathew Whitaker has been on staff with Boulevard Baptist since 2009. Prior to his arrival at Boulevard, Mat served as an Associate Pastor in churches in Indiana and Kentucky. Mat has a passion for proclaiming the Word of God, whether it’s in the pulpit, in the classroom, or over a cup of coffee that others may understand "God’s mystery which is Christ".
Mat is married to Clarissa and they have two children, Hannah 3, and Noah 1. In his free time, he enjoys reading, watching movies with his wife, wrestling with his kids, and just about anything outdoors.
